The Frugality's Alex Stedman (what I would give for that woman's wardrobe) recently discussed her buying habits as a repeat offender- someone who continuously buys the same items of clothing in a slightly different colour/style. This post screamed out to me as my wardrobe is a haven for navy, spots, thick knits, jumper dresses and cropped cigarette trousers. However, my worst offender is without a doubt the classic stripe. Blue stripes, black stripes, pink strips, grey stripes - I've got them all, but have recently found a couple of absolute corkers which I'm certain I'll be stockpiling in every colour.
Firstly from Cos. As you will quickly discover, Cos is one of my absolute favourite shops and I think it does the basics, such as this navy blue stripe number, brilliantly and at relatively reasonable prices. I already had this in a marl grey but have recently added this classic navy stripe to my collection.
I've been looking for a red breton for ages and short of spending a small fortune at Chinti & Parker - where the majority of my knitwear would be from if I won the lottery - have been pretty stumped. Last weekend, after going to collect an order from Uniqlo (heat tech goodness in preparation for my upcoming NYC trip), this beauty jumped out at me. It is such a flattering fit, is available in a rainbow of colours and comes in at under £15! There are also dresses in the same stripe and I'm pretty certain I'll have one of every colour before too long.
Brilliant breton recommendations gratefully received below.
