Everyone who knows me is well aware that I'm a massive Francophile. They also know that there's not much I won't do for a good cheeseburger. As a result, when Le Bun popped up on my doorstep it was a given that it wouldn't be long until I succumbed to the French-y burger-y goodness.
The French/American burger restaurant now has three locations in London and I was planning to review the Kingston branch. However, after a long (slightly hungover) day and after discovering they offer delivery through dinein.co.uk, I couldn't seem to get out of my onesie. Fast forward 30 mins and my Le Bun order was being enjoyed from the comfort of my sofa. WIN.
So, what did we go for. Me and the BF both decided to go for Le Royal with Cheese and OMG it was one it the most indulgent burgers I've ever tasted. The burger itself is an 8-hour brisket patty, topped with st maure de touraine (French cheese), truffled dijonnaise and more. We had with fries and truffle mac n' cheese and, while we were left feeling majorly full of cheese, it was totally worth it. The mac n' cheese is soooooo good.
Le Bun isn't your usual burger joint (it serves champagne coleslaw for crying out loud) but it is very, very good. Richer than your average, I did struggle to finish it, but at least nobody had to roll me home.
You can find your nearest Le Bun here.
