Ok, so we know everyone else is reviewing the new Mac/Cinderella collaboration, but, as we both have full time jobs, we didn't manage to jump on the bandwagon. Instead, HR is currently obsessing over primers...
I was totally late to the primer party but now I could not be without it. Well, without a few actually - I prime every bit of my face and I find that my make-up sits so much better and lasts so much longer. Here’s my daily face picks.
Someone once told me that Benefit create products for problems you never knew you had. SO TRUE. I never even considered the size of my pores, but now obsess over them thanks to their amazing pro balm, Porefessional. This leaves my skin feeling super-smooth and, as it says on the tin, reduces the look of pores and fine lines. It is AWESOME, but also a lil’ on the pricey side for not so much product.
As a result, I often revert to Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser. It is a fraction of the price and still does a pretty good job. For me, I like a ‘gel’ texture from my primer as I feel that it fills stuff a bit more effectively. This has a great texture but again comes in quite a small tube. What is with all the small tubes?! I also like the Elizabeth Arden Visible DIfference Primer which has a similar consistency and am certain I’d also love the Smashbox one but have yet to give this a go.
As a liquid liner lover, I can’t believe that I went without eyelid primer for so long. It makes my eyelids less oily, much smoother, gives eyeliner something to grip onto and keeps it in place all day. I’m currently loving Laura Mercier Eye Canvas which is a bit pricey but last forever. The Urban Decay one also comes highly recommended, but again with the small packaging!
